The Power of The Phoenix®

_____________________________________________________________________

Prologue:

The Phoenix was a great power in the north-eastern villages. The majestic mystical fire bloomed through the wings of this bird as it would rise from the ashes of a volcano. It could take down the strongest of armies. Many villages were built in tribute to the phoenix near the volcano it slept in.

One unlikely young adult would embark on a journey to find the phoenix. But why?...

A grand wooden and stone hall made from the greatest of builders was filled with noisy executives debating on a terrible series of events that have started and will continue.

The chief of the village stood with power strongly executing his thoughts onto the people in the hall.

“We have come a long way from our humble beginnings bonding with the powerful phoenix.” He sighed. “The darkness is underway, and there is corruption. News has it that this corruption was caused by a very terrible foe of The Village Ten, The Dark Lord.” He tried to hold in shouting from the luck they had just been given.

The villagers in the hall screamed at what they had just heard. One executive stops them. He yells.

“STOP SCREAMING!!! We will handle this. The meeting is over. Leave and go to your respective houses and take a break. We will make sure everything is resolved.”

The chief thanks the executive. The executive whispers in his ear.

“Your son can take them on. I’ve seen his power. He can stop the darkness.”

“My son? That’s the silliest thing I’ve heard all day. Stop dreaming.” He remarks.

“You will regret not listening to me!” The executive yells as the chief walks away.

Part 1: Meet Nee

Me being the chief’s son can be a hard responsibility. I know I am nineteen, but it still feels like I’m being treated like a child. I have to stay home during the meetings, I can’t go outside the village. But right now, I can understand if they want all of us to stay inside the village walls as there is great corruption.

We live in a village off the map near an ocean, and we’ve heard many great things from The Village Ten, as we are official trade partners. Meaning, we trade resources together. But today, I don’t want to talk about our partnership with The Village Ten. I want to talk about how I’m going to sneak out of the village and try and find the phoenix, who could be a powerful strong ally to me.

I jump stealthily out the window of my room. The time is Three AM. The guards just left to get some sleep for ten minutes, and I take the chance as an opportunity to leave. I grab some rope and climb the wall.

A guard sees me. My heart beats as fast as ever.

“Hey! Who’s that sneaking out!” He shouts loud and clear.

The other guards wake up and try to pin me down, but I don’t let them, parkouring up the watchtower jumping to the corrupted plains. I was surprised when I saw the guards weren’t chasing me, but something else was.

I hear a roar louder than my ears can handle. I see The Phoenix fly over my head and fall brutally in the ocean. My ears pop and I immediately swim to save The Phoenix.

Water splashes with waves rising up towards the hill behind me. The Phoenix starts to fly and brings the light over our village.

I tell The Phoenix what I’m trying to do, but he doesn’t listen and leaves to fly more. I quickly realize that I will be alone in my journey.

I see a forest covered in dark moss and corruption. Suddenly, a village comes to my sight. I run faster than I thought I could to see it. It was a village with a statue of a Totem. It was burned to the ground and I quickly saw some Flypers flapping their wings. And people atop them?

One woman tells me to jump on one of the guy’s Flypers. I listen to them for no apparent reason other than that I was feeling worried and needed to find the darkness. I forgot all about how these people may not be legitimate and true to heart.

I sleep quietly on the Flyper as rocks open into a cozy chamber filled to the brim with Flypers and humans. I wake up and ask them where I am.

“You have just arrived at The Flyper’s Den. A place where we are hiding out as the corruption grows. We found out that humans from The Village Ten, are trying to find peace with Flypers, and were being held captive. As we speak, I hear they are fighting the corrupted Dark Lord nearby in The Corrupted Castle.” A person speaks.

“Wow. I had no idea somebody was actually trying to make friends with Flypers and this is their outcome. In my village, like The Village Ten, Flypers are banned and will be taken down on sight. It’s a terrible law that I’ve always objected to.” I say, trying to converse while feeling terrible for the poor souls that have to face this kind of difficulty. I continue saying, “Can you bring me to The Corrupted Castle. I need to help.”

“That would be foolish. Stay here as they fight The Dark Lord.” One person rudely remarks.

Suddenly, the ground shakes as we are being pulled into a vortex of some kind. I make out with my eyes a person with a red glowing weapon facing off against a dark spirit. I immediately realize who these people are.

The Dark Lord, and the hero fighting him. I thought to myself, “I hope I could try and be like him.”

The sword falls into the endless void, and everything turns black. I wake up not knowing I was even alive. I open the door and I see myself in The Village Ten. Three people are standing in the middle, and the chief is casting a spell to banish The Dark Lord to a realm?

I find out the names of those three people after consulting a villager. First, they were the heroes that stopped The Dark Lord, and second I now know their names. Nad, Anion, and Ish. I smiled and ran towards the direction of my village when I bump into my father rushing into the village.

“So, you snuck out of the village and came to this dangerous place where the corruption was being held? I am truly very disappointed in you. Our main executive told us that you were worthy of taking on the darkness, and I actually considered it. Now you do this?” He remarks angrily.

I apologize to him, but it seems that it isn’t enough. I quietly sit down on a bench and think about what just happened.

I give up on wanting to be a hero and I go back home fuming with deep anger. As I sleep that night, the stars shine on me and I see none other than!
