It's finally here! I have a plan for this book, so cancellation is strongly doubted! (If you didn't read my last post, I cancelled Through the Rabbit Hole. However, Flower Follies will hopefully be more successful.) I hope you guys like Chapter 1!

FLOWER FOLLIES
CHAPTER 1
It was a beautiful spring morning. Not really; James, Jeff, and Ellie were fighting mutant plants. Wait, I went too far? Okay, let’s start from the beginning…
It was a beautiful spring morning, for real this time. The three 12-year-old siblings, James, Jeff, and Ellie, were preparing to go to school. In fact, school was over soon, so all three were very excited. They were looking forward to a day of just relaxing and having fun. Little did they know, that would not be the case.
CHERNOBYL, UKRAINE - 1 WEEK EARLIER
1 week earlier, in Chernobyl of the country Ukraine, there was a massive nuclear explosion. The 2nd one, of course. The Ukrainians had always believed the place was unstable, so, luckily, everyone evacuated in time. But, the explosion toxified the earth.
The area around the nuclear power plant was mostly grass, flowers, and trees. Mostly plants, you could say. And they were blooming this spring. Plants were everywhere. And the nuclear explosion had a fatal blow on these plants.
They mutated.
JORDAN MIDDLE SCHOOL, GEORGIA - PRESENT TIME
The kids had arrived in Jordan Middle School, their middle school that they cherished and loved. The teachers were amazing, the students were amazing, and the lunch was amazing. Everything about it was amazing.
“Bye, Jeff, Ellie!” shouted James.
“Bye boys!” shouted Ellie.
“See you guys!” yelled Jeff.
It was an amazing day. They did do classes, but they were fun and entertaining in a way. The teachers were still amazing.
But, suddenly, something happened.
The siblings were in their accelerated math class when it unfolded.
Mrs. Wolwort was teaching square roots and such when there was a bang from the schoolyard. Everyone instantaneously glanced to see what the noise exactly was.
Nothing. So Mrs. Wolwort continued teaching.
“So, square roots...”
She was interrupted by a squishing sound, followed by another bang. Then, a roar.
A giant monstrous creature that looked like a flower erupted into the room. It roared, then dove for some kids. Ellie, Jeff, and James all ran for their lives as more and more mutated plants came crashing through the school walls. They escaped just in time.
“Phew!” James said, relieved. “What were those things?!”
Ellie looked at her social studies book. “This says that there was a nuclear explosion in Chernobyl recently. Apparently, several thousand flowers and trees mutated into these things.” She pointed toward a large flowering beast with extremely long leaves and a mouth at its core. “We should probably run.”
“What about the others?” Jeff asked, terrified.
“We can’t worry about them right now,” said James. “We need to check on our parents!”
The three ran for their house, which was luckily only a few blocks away from Jordan Middle. But when they got there, it was too late.
Plants had infiltrated the house and were taking over. There was no way they had survived.
It was the spring apocalypse.
Wow! What an amazing piece of work! I'm excited for what will happen next!
