Responsibility

I was in a flurry to finish my essay,

“C’mon, C’mon C’mon,” I said rushing to the toaster pulling out my bread.

Crunching into it as I rush back to my desk.

“Don’t stuff your mouth Gingy” Mom said

I quickly finished my essay and tried to rush to the school bus.

Now comes the fun part,

I was climbing onto the bus when it happened.

“BOOM” The first of many the bombs hit near the bus.

The glass shattered as me and my friend scattered out of the bus with the others,

“What was that?”

“Maybe a dinosaur sneezed!” Said a kindergartener.

“No, look at this,” I said, “It is a sphere, maybe it is the culprit”

“Well kids you need to walk to school,” said the bus driver.

His cellphone started to vibrate

“Oh it’s the school”

His eyes widened every second making him look like a pufferfish

“Oh my god,” he muttered at one point. Then he said,

“Kids school is… canceled due to… um, a bombing,” he said uneasily.

“5 teachers were injured and one is in the hospital, luckily no-one was near it as all the teachers were entering the building” He continued.

I trudged back into the house where my mom was shocked at my arrival.

“You are supposed to be on the bus! She boomed.

“No School to…” he got cut off

“I check the calendar every time before sending you,” Mom mumbled

“There was a bomb at the school and near our bus, they officially called it,” Ginger said

‘WHOOSH’ An sound passed by as a weird-looking human thing entered

“Surrender,” He said

“What in the world are you? You look like we got stuffed with a zebra head” Mom said

‘Sigh’ He took his mask off

“We are a nation Earth has never known and now we are going to rule it so that wars end,” He said.

Three more men walked in.

“Goodbye people,” He said smirking
