Chapter 1: The Beginning
Sir Faunt was a knightly knight. He lived in the Kingdom of Music, where songs and music were adored by all. The Kingdom of Music had many loyal soldiers at its service, but it was often the regions that amazed everyone. There was one for pop, one for rock, one for jazz, and one for every other type of music you could think of.
Now, the Kingdom had its squires compete in musical battles to become knights. And one day, Faunt’s dream came true - he was selected to battle with another squire named Eighth T. Note.
On the very day of the battle, Faunt was terrified, as everyone in the Kingdom said that Eighth was an amazing fighter and musician, wielding his eighth note sword.
And then the day had finally come. It was his time to shine.
Eighth T. Note was a tall, muscular knight, with shining armor and, of course, his eighth note sword. He looked so much better than Faunt, so the smaller squire was terrified. All he had was a puny guitar.
Eighth swung at him fiercely, but Faunt, being smaller and stealthier, avoided all of his attacks and smacked his left shin with his, Faunt’s, guitar. As Eighth cried in pain, Faunt attacked his kneecap, causing him to fall over squealing. And as soon as he tried to get up, Faunt bashed his head with the guitar.
And then, Eighth couldn’t get up. Faunt had won. Everyone in the crowd was cheering for him. Sir Faunt felt like a real hero.
Towards the end of the battle, the king of the Kingdom beckoned Faunt to come towards him.
“Sir Faunt, you did amazing out there!” cried the king.
“Well, it was nothing, really,” replied the small but mighty Faunt.
“Oh, stop being humble. You should be congratulated. How about this: As a reward, I’ll let you into the Knights of the Round Table.”
“The Knights of the Round Table?!” Faunt was befuddled. The Knights of the Round Table were the three best knight musicians in the entire Kingdom of Music, and the king himself had just invited Sir Faunt to be the fourth!
“Well, will you do it?”
Faunt considered. He hesitantly replied, “yes, sir, I will.”
Now Sir Faunt, one of the meekest knights in the whole of the Kingdom of Music, was a part of the most exclusive club of knights, the Knights of the Round Table.
