Scaredy Willy and the Jack-o-lantern Cave

Chapter One:The Supersonic Snake

Little Scaredy Willy was on his normal mid day walk. He was scared of everything. People say that the only thing he is not scared of are snakes and I don't blame him. They are good pets. Now it's getting late and ZOOM. The fastest snake you could possibly ever see zoomed by. Woosh. Now he was excited but was still careful because he was scared of everything except snakes. The air felt crisp outside and then owooooo. Wolf thought Scaredy Willy and he broke into a sprint. Now he suddenly stopped. He spotted the SupersonicSnake, it was injured. He dashed over to it and lifted it. It was 3 feet 10 pounds. He was lucky his mom was not home. He had a secret pack of bandages. No one knows why he is not afraid of snakes. I mean most people are afraid of the thought of snakes. Some people say he does not want to be afraid of everything. Other people say he used to have a pet snake when he was not afraid of anything. When he was that brave, cute kid everybody loves. As he grew up he got more scared and more scared and more scared until he basically was scared of everything but snakes. He wouldn't even go in the pool. Forget that he would take some sort of medison every time he ate or drank anything. You could say he was a cat in a cage full of dogs. Now if you were wondering why he had the secret pack of bandages was because he was scared of everything including bullies and as the scardest kid in the school he got bullied a lot. Not word bullying. He got punched and got a lot of cuts so he always kept the bandages in case. It took awhile but he managed to get all the bandages on the snake. It took 5 bandages to cover up the wound but he eventually did it. Everyday he took care of it. He took care of it for the next month and then it happened. It healed and he was overjoyed. When he let it out it zoomed away. He was really happy it was ok but sad he left. A minute later it came back but it was not alone. He had a dead rat. He guessed that is the way snakes say thank you. From that day forward they never left each other's side. It was the perfect combination. Scaredy Willy and the SuperSonic Snake.

Chapter Two:The First Day of October

“Willy,” said Mr. Artor.

There was no response. You could not find him anywhere. Now since it was his first time in middle school, not a single soul in the whole building knew his phobia of October and everything else except snakes..

Now if you knew about a normal boy playing hooky you could probably find them at the movies or at GameStop. But here's a catch for you, Scaredy Willy is not normal.

Now you could find Scaredy Willy where you can find him every year on the first day of October. The place where he called safe, the place where he sleeps and the place where he keeps his supersonic snake. It was his room. Now you may be wondering what's not safe about movie theaters.

Well here are Scaredy Willy reasons.

1.The germs. The movies have a lot of germs on the seat.

2. What if the screen falls? Dumb question right? Well not for Scaredy Willy.

So his mom has left for work expecting him to have caught his private bus.

(He is not rich, it's a small yellow car called a bus.)

The school called his mom and his mom said

“I thought he left the house.”

Scardey Willy never left the house that day.

The cops rushed to Willy’s house. “Ma'am, when was your child last spotted?” The cops asked.

“Well I spotted him leaving the house this morning,” she lied. Ma'am for this to work you have to make sure you are absolutely telling the truth about everything you say. I’m sure I saw him leaving the house she lied against. Ok Ma’am.

Well I guess we will walk down the street and see if he was spotted by neighbors. “Ok” Willy’s mom sobbed. The cops left the house, and Willy heard the whole conversation, so he was furious at his mom for lying to the cops.

He thought to himself, ‘Do you not see your son?

He jumped out the window and ran off to the woods...

Chapter Three: The Death Trap

Panting, Willy ran into the woods but quickly regretted it. He sat down for a rest. In the distance he could hear his mom calling his name. He wanted to head back but his body wouldn't move.

He started panicking as his feet were going into the ground. He started screaming but his mom had gone down the street with the cops, still sobbing. Please someone help me he screamed for the world to hear but no one came. His waist was about to touch the ground when he felt that his feet were dangling from nowhere and he realized it was hollow underneath the quick sand. As he was being sucked in he felt hot. It was around afternoon and he was almost fully covered to his chin now. He was about to die, well at least he thought.

A man came out from behind the trees and said “what would you give me if I helped you out.”

“I would give you anything,” said Willy.

“Good,” said the man. He tied a rope to himself and then to the tree he was hiding behind and lowered himself into the death trap. The man looked tired and dirty like he was sitting in mud all day. Smirking the man said “ How could a small boy like you be in a big scary forest like this.” This did not make Willy feel any better.

Willy had been sitting in a mud pile for 5 hours. He needed water. The sun had dried the life out of him and he had a couple of sun burns.

The man was digging in the sand looking for a hand to pull out.

“Ouch,” screamed Willy. The shovel hit his hand and made a small scrape.

“Well I see we finally reached your hand,'' said the man after an hour and half of digging. The man yanked the hand and Willy out of the sand. To the man's surprise Willy had no dirt stuck to him.

The mysterious man left a piece of paper and when Willy read it he was amazed.
