BURNING WATER: STORIES OF THE ELEMENTS

Chapter 3: Nature
Natures were immensely powerful beasts, but were rare to find, as they preferred to stay in wooded areas and care for their Wood offspring. Since Fire had taken a few Woods, this Nature was angry.
Fire dashed as far away as he could, but Water pulled him back, extinguishing some of his flame.
“You’re not going anywhere,” she told him.
Water chucked Fire toward the Elemental beast. He wasn’t very effective, but did start a small fire upon the Nature’s bark. However, it just wiped it off like it was nothing.
Water extended her arms, then continually slapped the Nature. The force knocked it back, causing it to flip over onto some Woods, who squeaked crazily, now trapped under the beast. It attempted to move, but failed miserably, only budging an inch before completely collapsing and then melting into the soil.
“Let’s go!” Fire said excitedly. He raised his fiery hand up so that Water could high-five it. But she didn’t. “Water?”
“You did nothing to help in that situation!” she yelled. Her face was scrunched up, and her eyes were full of tidal waves of anger. “You just got us into the mess, then did nothing to solve it! All you did was sit back and watch me do the work! And if I’m being honest, you’re nothing but WEAK!!!”
Fire frowned. “I didn’t know -”
“It doesn’t matter anymore!” Water stormed into the forest to help the injured Woods.
Fire slowly walked back to the house. As he went, ashes dropped from his eyes like tears.
Chapter 4: Ice
As Fire trudged into the house, Water’s mother, Ice, greeted him pleasantly. “Hello, Firey!” she called, smiling.
Fire just walked up the stairs and into his room.
Ice was confused. Fire was never like this. He was always optimistic and enthusiastic.
Fire slammed the door once he got to his room. There were embers on it now, for he had slammed it with so much fiery force. Ice was scared. She walked up to his door and extinguished the miniature flames that were slowly spreading across the wood. “I really need to get a non-flammable door,” Ice whispered.
Ice knocked the door slowly and quietly. “Firey? You in there?” she asked. Fire didn’t answer. Ice could faintly hear him crying.
She opened the door and asked Fire, “What’s wrong, honey?”
“Water hates me,” he said, turning away from Ice. “She said I’m weak.”
Ice frowned. “Don’t listen to her, honey,” she cooed. “You know Water, she gets like this sometimes. You’re not weak. She just was…a little mad, I guess. What were you doing?”
Fire explained the story to Ice, who continued to frown.
“That’s not your fault,” she said. “We all make mistakes sometimes. Elements aren’t perfect.”
“Power is,” Fire said quietly. Power was the strongest Element known to Element-kind. He was exceedingly strong, with giant arms and legs, muscles, and beautiful blonde hair. His heart was a brilliant blue sapphire gem that glowed mystically, and it was the rumored source of his power. He was as flawless as an Element could get.
Ice was anxious, and wasn’t sure what to say. So, she just stood there quietly for a second before saying, “Well, I’m sorry, Fire. But maybe she’ll make it up to you later on.”
Fire nodded, but knew this was incorrect.
Ice felt bad, but there was nothing she could do. She stumbled out of Fire’s room and closed the almost completely melted door behind her. But as she exited, she heard something. Water was in trouble, and she needed help.
