BURNING WATER: STORIES OF THE ELEMENTS

Chapter 5: Portal
Water was mad. She couldn’t believe Fire. It was so foolish of him to steal Woods from their habitat. She didn’t know how he could even think that was a smart idea.
Water patched up some injured Woods. Using her healing effects, she mended all of their scrapes and scratches. Surprisingly, they didn’t have too many, and were in good shape. When the Nature got back up from the earth, Water thought it would attack her, but it rewarded her for healing its Wood children.
Water actually felt much better. She was still mad at Fire, but was in a good
mood. She was strolling along in the forest, just her to think about how nice of a night it was, with the stars twinkling above her and the moon looking down at her beautifully.
That was until she noticed where she was.
All Water could see was trees all around her, no civilization, not even a single Element to comfort her. She started to freak out. She was lost in the forest.
However, she knew that she could extend her arms upward so she could look at her surroundings. So, Water put as much effort as she could into lifting herself up, but she couldn’t. There was a splinter in her finger. She knew that this meant her powers would be thwarted, and she wouldn’t be as flexible as she normally would.
Water ran through the trees, hoping she would get home soon. But it just seemed that she was getting farther and farther away from her destination.
She stopped. “Hello?!!” she cried. There was no answer. Only squirrels rummaging through the trees and Woods crawling about.
“I’m lost,” Water said, glowing tears flowing down her face. “I don’t know where I am, and I have nothing. Oh, I wish Fire was here.” She regretted everything she said about him. She wished she could just walk up to him and apologize.
She curled up in a ball and waited. The seconds seemed like minutes, and the minutes seemed like hours. She couldn’t stop crying. She was alone, and even her ninja skills couldn’t get her out of this.

It had been an hour since Water sat down in the forest. All was quiet. Even the Air Elements weren’t around. Normally, she thought, the pesky Airs would be blowing in my ears. But they don’t want to be around me. Noone does.
Finally, there was sound. Water heard something whirring in the distance. She got up and trotted toward it. She walked tens and hundreds of feet, but finally arrived at some bushes near a clearing. She could hear the sound right there. She looked through the bushes and saw something very strange.
There was a gleaming purple portal with a black core located right in the center of the clearing. It was so bright, Water could hardly see. But she could make out figures surrounding it. It looked like more figures were leaping out of it. She focused harder, and saw that the figures were weird humanoid creatures that were light gray and had buttons all over them. Their arms were like long rectangles, and their hands were semicircles. They also had only one leg that connected to a wheel. This wheel was constantly spinning as the creatures drove around.
Water gasped. Too loudly.
The creatures turned around quite suddenly and stared at Water. They then looked back at one another and started dashing toward her.
Water was running as fast as possible, but the creatures caught up to her and held her in their “arms”. She attempted to escape, but they had supernatural strength. She couldn’t.
“HELP!!!” she screamed. But noone heard her as she was dragged back into the depths of the forest.
Thanks for reading!
I see you made this chapter longer, with that, a very good book!
