All About Tigers

Like my first book, I am going to write about my favorite animal the tiger enjoy the story.

Introduction

Hello and today I am going to talk about tigers! Tigers are very amazing creatures and powerful animals in the world. That's why you will be surprised to know that tigers are endangered animals. They are in danger of dying out completely but many people are trying to save them.

Why Tigers Are Important

Tigers are one of the most beautiful animals in the world. They also important members of the habitats where they live. They help keep nature in balance Tigers eat hoofed animals like deer and wild pigs. Without tigers, these animals would eat too many plants. Then other animals that need plants for food and shelter would die.

Endangered tigers

Long ago nine types of tigers lived in large parts across Asia. During the 1900s, three types of tigers became extinct. Now four types of tigers are probably extinct in the wild. One hundred years ago more than 100,000 tigers were alive. Now only about 3,500 live in the wild. All remaining types of tigers are endangered.

Why Tigers Are Endangered

The biggest reason that tigers are endangered is that people buy and sell tiger body parts for money. To get these body parts some people poach, or break the law and kill wild tigers. Why do people want to hunt tigers? For many centuries some Chinese medicines use tiger bones and other body parts. some people thought that these medicines would help cure certain illnesses. They believed that the tiger's strength could heal people. Most Chinese medicines do not use tiger parts. But some companies still make medicines from tiger parts. Selling tiger parts has been against the law in China since 1993. Most countries around the world have agreed to not buy or sell tiger parts. But the poaching continues. poachers care more about money than protecting endangered animals. Another reason that tigers are endangered habitat is disappearing. The number of people in Asia is growing quickly. People need more land to live and grow food on. Houses, farms, and roads are replacing the wildland that was tigers once made their homes.

Conclusion

No one wants tigers to be extinct but many people understand time is running out for tigers. Several things must happen if we want to see tigers in the future. If we don't do anything tigers might be extinct in the future. Let's hope we see tigers in the future!
